At BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, we help nations, governments and businesses around the world defend themselves against fraud and cybercrime and reduce their risk in the connected world. We provide the company’s capabilities in the cyber, intelligence and security markets, both in the UK and internationally. The main UK offices located in Gloucester, Guildford, London and Leeds.

We deliver a wide variety of services to our customers, including: cyber security; fraud detection; data & digital engineering; and threat defence for nations.

We are keen to support the development of the next generation of cyber specialists, knowing that we need an ever-increasing number of engineers to meet the needs of our customers. BAE Systems is home to a wide-variety of engineering expertise (electronics, software, data, security and more), so nurturing a passion for ‘cyber’ in all its forms is a goal for the company.

Engagements to date:

Through the Cyber Schools Hub, BAE Systems has supported a number of educational outreach activities, including:

  • Acting as guardians for the  CyberFirst Girls teams that both Wyedean and Ribston schools entered

  • Providing Cyber careers advice for the Yr 7 students in Beafort Academy, as part of their National Careers Week

  • Supporting students from Ribston school assemble a ‘monster VR’ desktop computer

  • Supported & Judged as a Cyber Dragon during Wyedean’s Cyber apprenticeship event (a cyber-version of ‘Dragons Den’ & ‘The Apprentice’)

  • Delivered practical STEM workshops for sixty Yr 5 students who attended Wyedean for the day, given them experience of both high-school and STEM topics
